Welcome to Warrawee Duck Farm - Home of Stumpy!

Animals

Pigs

All the pigs at Warrawee Duck Farm are rare breeds.  We have the following breeding sows:-

British Lop Pedigree Sow

A Harmony bloodline British Lop sow called Wispa who is proving to be a very reliable breeding sow.

Large Black Pedigree Boar

In December 2008 Paul and I drove down to Cornwall to bring home our very own Large Black Pedigree Boar, called Malcolm.   He is called Malcolm, excellent bloodline, and is proving to be a very reliable boar and is covering every sow within a couple of weeks of putting them together.    He is such a gentle giant and loves his tummy rubbed and will roll over to accommodate!

All pigs on the farm are fed on Acormix supplied by KW Agriblends of Coombe Bissett.

And then of course there's Stanley!

Stanley is a Kune Kune castrated boar whom we rehomed in early 2008.   In his previous home with his former owner a little boy called Harvey he decided to take umbridge with the family chickens and hence needed a new home.   Sophie found him on her work intranet and needless to say he ended up here!!   He has settled into the farm well and is quite a character.   A trick Harvey taught Stan to do was to sit for an apple and here is the proof.

When visiting the farm just remember to bring the apple or carrot and you never know Stanley may just sit for you - well that's if he thinks the apple is big enough to warrant a sit!!!!

Ducks

All birds on the farm are fed on Countrywide food.

From day old to 6 weeks they are fed Chick Crumbs - supplied by Norris and Sons

From 6 weeks to 14 weeks they are fed Growers Pellets - supplied by Norris and Sons

From 14 weeks onwards they are fed Layers Pellets - supplied by Humphrey Feeds of Twyford, Winchester.  Contact at Humphrey Feeds is Martin Humphrey who provides me with much appreciated knowledge of poultry food and for this I am very grateful.  The layers pellets are specially made to ensure maximum lay from the birds with a protein level of 18%.

Sheep

The sheep are mixed breeds and are called Wiggle, Wobble, Whimper and Whistle (I think you can probably detect a theme by now!!)  They are fed on Acormix.   All these ewes are now proud mummies and to think that they used to look like this!!

Colin (the Springer Spaniel)

I hope you like the photos which I think just about sums him up.  As you can see it wasn't Colin's fault that his mum gave him the wrong body when he was born, after all he is a Springer Spaniel and just looks like a lamb.  Colin will remain as our lodger and yard lamb and is up for as many cuddles as he can get by all who visit.

Unfortunately Colin died in November 2008 but I think he should still have his photo album on the webpage as I do miss him terribly.
